It is an important time for our Estates and Facilities team. We have a complex healthcare estate supporting busy clinical services every day, while at the same time preparing for significant investment and transformation across our hospitals.

Our immediate priority is ensuring our estate remains safe, resilient and fully equipped to support the exceptional care our patients and clinical teams depend on every day. At the same time, we are investing in the future of our hospitals, progressing the redevelopment of St Mary’s Hospital, shaping long-term plans for Charing Cross and Hammersmith, and continuing to enhance our existing facilities. With an updated estates strategy and significant investment planned in the years ahead, this is a pivotal and exciting time to join our team and help shape the future of healthcare across our organisation.

We are making seven appointments across capital, programme delivery, clinical engineering and fire safety. Each has a different remit, but together they will strengthen some of the areas that are fundamental to how our estate operates and develops.

We are looking for people who bring strong professional expertise, but also the judgement and confidence to work within a large, complex and constantly evolving healthcare environment. You will need to collaborate well, build trusted relationships and understand that decisions made within Estates and Facilities can have a very real impact on our staff, our clinical services and, ultimately, our patients.

Imperial’s wider strategy is focused on delivering outstanding care, education and research while developing a sustainable portfolio of services and building improvement and innovation into everything we do. For our team, the estate is an important part of enabling those ambitions.

For me, that is what makes these opportunities so compelling. There is important work to deliver now, alongside the chance to contribute to changes that will shape Imperial’s hospitals for many years to come.
