As Insight Executive Group nears its tenth anniversary, I am reminded of the company’s beginnings, with just three enthusiastic founders who wanted to ‘do recruitment differently’. Their mission was to swap the KPI-bashing traditional recruitment methods with an approach that embraced expanding networks through referrals and references and operate in a way that fully supports a positive work-life balance.

Based on these principles, the group has expanded to include two recruitment businesses across the UK, a mapping and search business in the USA, and a UK Public Sector consultancy operation – and has grown over 900%.

As we near a significant milestone, it felt crucial to reflect on what continues to motivate our teams and why they chose Insight Executive Group. There were two ways to go about this:

  1. Retreat with senior management and a consultant to define our values, or
  2. Involve every member of our team to unearth the values that they identify with IEG and resonate with them.

We, of course, chose inclusivity over exclusivity. Through extensive discussions that captured the voices across our team, we crystallised our ethos into four core values that are the bedrock of our operations. These form the pillars that support every partnership we agree to, every career we shape and every piece of advice we offer to our clients.

As we approach our decennial—a term I delight in adding to my vocabulary this year—I am proud to share these streamlined values, sculpted and upheld by our dedicated team, to guide us into the next decade:
