Taking on the role of Managing Director this year was nerve-racking, challenging, and, thankfully, incredibly rewarding. As we close another year at Insight Executive, I want to share our milestones and key lessons I’ve learned over my first twelve months as MD.
Major Achievements and Our Recruitment Landscape
We expanded our footprint with two office moves and a new office in Manchester, adapting to the evolving needs for more dynamic and flexible workspaces. Our new payroll system has streamlined operations, underscoring the importance of technology in enhancing business efficiency.
A highlight was one of our multi-role campaigns, delivering 40 transformative roles for a client. This exemplifies the impact of specialised recruitment strategies in large-scale business transformations. For our teams, it reaffirmed the broader industry trend towards more strategic partnership roles in recruitment. We’re excited to put our learnings into place and guide more clients through successful multi-role campaigns in 2025.
Leadership Lessons: The Power of Surrounding Yourself with Brilliant People
This year’s crucial realisation was the importance of building a strong team of experts around you. Success is a collective effort; delegating and trusting your team drives operational success and creates a dynamic and exciting work environment—and that statement comes from someone who used to try to ‘do it all.’
On a personal level, balancing work and family has been equally important to me this year. With a wonderful wife, two children under three, and two energetic dogs at home, I’ve come to appreciate the need for setting boundaries and prioritising quality time. Work-life balance isn’t just a personal goal—it’s a core value for Insight Executive. We want everyone on our team to feel supported in managing their careers alongside their personal lives.
What’s Next: Preparing for a Milestone Year
Looking ahead to 2025, we’re thrilled to promote Katie Yianni to the board as Operations Director. Her leadership will be key in revamping our L&D initiatives, focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion internally as a business and across all our recruitment processes.
Next year also marks our ten-year anniversary—a chance to celebrate successes and learnings as we plan for continued growth. And yes, a chance to dust down some photo albums of IE’s early days (watch this space)!
Thank You
A huge thank you to everyone at Insight Executive for your resilience and adaptability this year, particularly through economic and political changes. Your commitment, hard work, and personable approach create unique opportunities for the people we serve and power our collective success.
As we welcome the New Year, I’d also like to thank all our clients, candidates, and colleagues for your trust and partnership. Enjoy this New Year with your loved ones, and let’s prepare for a fantastic celebration of our decade-long journey in 2025.
